Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman’s life and one way that you can make the process more fun and special is through cute pregnant belly paintings. Make your photoshoot more creative and also fun with maternity belly paintings. Read on for some unique and fun belly painting ideas.

Belly painting is generally safe for pregnant women. The main concern is the type of product you’re using. There are many paints available, but only some can be used on the skin of a pregnant belly. Some pigments are toxic to developing babies, as well as the mom.

You should remember that the skin around your belly is stretched, so it’s a lot more sensitive. Your skin might not normally react poorly to things, but it will likely be different now. No two women are the same, so it’s a good idea to test a small area before you paint it all.

What Type of Paint is Safe to Use on a Pregnant Belly?
This has become a big trend for mothers in their last weeks of pregnancy, so it’s now easier than ever to find specific pregnant belly paints that you can purchase. They’re FDA approved and made with non-toxic water-based materials.

The best ones are vegan, paraben-free, and made in the USA. There are a variety of colors to give you the effect you want. Sticking with these paints will be the safest option, but you can use other types as well.

More generic types of paints that are safe to use are body and face paints because those tend not to bother the skin. They’re already designed to wash off easily and aren’t irritating. Read the packaging to make sure that they’re hypoallergenic and don’t contain harsh chemicals.

The main ones you want to avoid are latex and acrylic paint. These both contain toxic materials and require harsh scrubbing to get off. This will upset the skin on your belly and could harm your little one who’s all snug inside.
My best advice is to hire a professional artist who works with skin water based paints.
